Jolly Hockey Tots

Jolly Hockey Tots asked me to come along to photograph one of their sessions in Cheltenham. An energetic hour was spent running around after the kids as they darted this way and that in pursuit of the hockey ball, doing warm up exercises and practicing their throwing and catching, oh, and dressing up, obviously! It's a great way for the kids to get active, and the emphasis is all about having fun!

Sling Beat

I'd heard a few mum's talking about this new craze that had hit Cheltenham so dropped Emily-Rose a line to see if I could pop along to one of her sessions to take a few snaps.

Sling Beat is basically a dance fitness class where your babies can come along too! For mum's or dad's with children from 6 weeks to 2 years. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/slingbeat.

Lilliput Concert

Despite living in Cheltenham as a Mummy for the last 3 years, I'd never heard of Lilliput Concerts until Kate Skeet contacted me asking if I could come along and photograph their 1st birthday, and boy had I been missing out! When I arrived at St Andrew's Church, Montpellier, the queue was out the door and the hall was filling up quickly.

A Lilliput Concert is a classical concert for babies and toddlers, where no one is telling them off for being too noisy. Quite the opposite in fact, children are actively encouraged to dance, sing, clap and even run on stage, (I caught one little monkey tinkling on the ivories and another hiding underneath the piano!) It's a refreshing way to enjoy classical music. Plus you get delicious cake afterwards too! For more info go to https://www.facebook.com/LilliputConcerts.

Pentecost @ Pip & Jim's

Last Sunday I was invited by the Revd Nick Davies of St Philip and St James' Church in Leckhampton, to photograph their family friendly Pentecost Service.

I've worked with Nick many times now, previously capturing shots of their Harvest Festival Service, Crib Service as well as publicity shots for their Christmas cards.

Myself, my husband and two children enjoy the family services that take place on the first Sunday of each month. It's refreshing to feel so warmly welcomed with the little ones laughing, screaming and shouting, which is actively encouraged throughout the service!

The work I do for Nick and the Church is all voluntary and frequently whilst taking the photos I often find at least one of my children clambering all over me!

Sing and Sign

I'd always wanted to do sign with my son when he was a baby but it was something we never got round to learning, sadly. So when Nic invited me along to photograph one of her Sing and Sign classes in Cirencester, I was curious to find out what I'd missed out on!

Signing with your child, especially when they can't yet talk, is a great means of communication - for them and you. Nic's classes are relaxed, with the emphasis on having fun. There's lots of sign, of course, but also musical instruments and other interactive toys.

Babel Babies

Cate Hamilton recently invited me along to take some photographs of one of her Babel Baby multi sensory and movement classes. I'd never been to one before, but on arrival I was greeted by a very friendly My Croc and oodles of fabulous colour, noise and fun.

The multilingual classes are magical and the kids get really enthused through singing, dancing, playing and learning languages together, in a relaxed and informal setting. You can even nip downstairs at the end for coffee and cake at The Exmouth!
