The Gift of Bluebells

Anna's 60 minute photo shoot had been purchased for her at Christmas using one of my gift vouchers. As with all my gift vouchers, there is no expiry date to them so clients are free to cash them in whenever it's convenient. As it happens, Anna and her family got in touch a few months later and I recommended we do the shoot at Lassington Woods - the bluebell display there is magical and the family were keen to avoid the more popular parks of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

It was a big group so plenty of opportunities for some, relaxed, unposed pictures of everyone. If you would like to book something similar then please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. I'd love to hear from you! Thanks.

Oscar and Alfie

I photographed brothers, Oscar and Alfie, at their house in Cheltenham a week or two ago. Their Mum had booked me for 40 minutes and was after some natural, unposed photos of them. Older brother Alfie was keen to show me around the garden while baby brother Oscar had a last minute outfit change!

We got some lovely photos of them together, which was a priority for Mum, as well as some nice individual shots. I managed to get lots of lovely smiles out of Alfie with my favourite game of peep-o from behind the camera - little ones seem to love it!

Water Park Wonderland!

Sarah Litchfield and her family booked me for a 60 minute family photo shoot at the Cotswold Water Park, where they were staying for the weekend to celebrate both her and her Mum's birthdays.

I was told by Sarah from the outset that they weren't the most natural family in front of the camera but by following a few of my suggestions to help get everyone relaxed, turns out she had nothing to worry about. Some stone skimming, a boat ride and some informal family portraits got everyone giggling and having a good time.

The Underhill Family

Vicky booked me for a 60 minute family photo shoot last week for her Mum's 70th birthday. It was a big gathering with three generations including grandparents, parents and grandchildren.

We met in the amphitheatre in Cirencester, which is always a brilliant spot for photos. The steep hills and dynamic, curved shape create a beautiful back drop.

There was plenty of fun and games to be had. After a few formal family pictures, the children were soon giving each other toilet rides, hanging from branches and showing me their various gymnastic skills!

The Blackman Family

Victoria and her family were celebrating her Mum's 50th and what better way to do so than by booking a family photo shoot together.

Despite it being their Nanna's birthday treat, it was her grandsons who stole the show with their adorable smiles and cheeky characters! Sam and Henry frolicked among the daffodils and loved playing peep-o with me from behind a little star window. A perfect frame for some perfect pics!

Snowdrops in the Snow

A couple of weeks ago I held a blogging event for local bloggers based in and around Cheltenham. In return for their free photo shoot the bloggers would write a piece about their experience with Mouse About Town and publish it to all their followers. It was a good piece of self promotion during a generally quiet time of the year.

The photo shoots were all performed at the beautiful Painswick Rococo Gardens. I had met the organisers a few weeks earlier and during our meeting they had kindly agreed to waiver all entry fees and even agreed to throw in free drinks and cakes vouchers for us all. By way of thanks, I gave the Rococo Gardens all the of the pictures from the photo shoots for them to use on their website and in other publications. Everyone benefited, which is the best kind of promotional event.

Each photo shoot was 30 minutes long and carried out in various parts of the gardens: the snow drops, trees and buildings all provided many stunning and varied backdrops.

The main focus was to photograph the grounds with families, (and dogs!) in them to really help show off the beautiful gardens.  There where five groups due to have their photos taken: one parent and her friend, a dog and her owner and three toddlers. Unfortunately one group couldn’t make it so I offered a free photoshoot to the Nature Tots group that is held at the Rococo Gardens every Tuesday morning. One of the parents agreed and her son, Kai, played at ease in the playground whilst I took some pictures.

The whole event was a real success and a lot of fun photos were produced. See below for links to all the blogs that were written and accompanying photos.

Kai

Kai was not on my schedule to be photographed, he was one of the children from the Nature Tots group. It was very kind of his Mother to allow me to do carry out such an impromptu photo shoot as she had no idea who I was! I briefly introduced myself of course and then worked very hard to put little Kai at ease. He had no idea who I was so the fact he looks so happy and relaxed in the photos is testament to my ability. My photo shoots are always very informal and as you can tell from the pictures, Kai loved it.

Honey

Gorgeous Honey the Dautshound was a picture of perfection among the snowdrops! Bless her, her legs were so little the snowdrops nearly buried her! Between her owner and I we managed to get some lovely shots of her looking right down the camera lens.

Harper

Eighteen month old Harper was terrific fun. She adored the carpet of snowdrops and looked right at home nestled among them snuggled in her eskimo hood!

Zanthe

Eight month old Zanthe was a real sweetheart. Despite the cold weather and falling snow she was all smiles among the snowdrops! Click on the link below to view the blog post about their experience with me.

Emma

Emma came along with a friend for a few head and profile shots. We took a leisurely walk around the grounds stopping every now and then for a pose as and when I felt the light was falling nicely.

I didn't catch the name of this little lad but he was another Nature Tot whose Mum was happy for me to photograph.

Rococo Gardens

At the end of the day there was just enough time to take some shots of the gardens before leaving to pick up my two mini mice from school.

Location Mash Up's

It was a crazy, busy time in the run up to Christmas and I seemed to be out on location a lot. I'm ever so fortunate though - the drive along the A40 at sunrise on a crisp Winter's morning is spectacular. This was where one of these photo shoots took place. It was an early start, such was my schedule for the day. I left my house at 7am and when I eventually found my client's house I was pleased to see the boys were dressed and ready to go at 8am sharp.

The other photo shoot took place at Barnwood Arboretum, another favourite spot of mine.

The Richardson Family

Last weekend I met Helen and her family for a 30 minute photo shoot in the field next to St Peter's Church in Leckhampton. It's a glorious spot and looked especially beautiful with the strong Autumn light creeping across the fields.

As with all my photo shoots it was lots of fun. I spent most of the time chasing the children around the field and achieved some lovely, relaxed shots. There were also some more traditional group photos as per the family's request as the photo shoot was the first opportunity in a long time that the whole family had got together.

Namina

A few weeks ago I met up with a lovely family from London who were visiting the Cotswolds on holiday. Turns out I had photographed their best friend's just a few weeks earlier at the same location! They had recommended me to them, which is nice.

Ellenborough Park makes a beautiful backdrop for photos. I'm very family with the place having shot numerous weddings there. On this occasion though my subject was gorgeous baby Namina, just a few months old in these pictures.

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch using the form on my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All images are included in the price of the photo shoot. Thanks!

Ellenborough Park

Last Monday I met up with Natsuko and her family for a 60 minute photography session at the gorgeous Ellenborough Park. The family had been on holiday in the Cotswolds and were flying back to Singapore straight after our photo shoot! It was a super hour spent strolling around the beautiful grounds in the sunshine, pausing for photos on the grass lawn, hammock, swing and in tucked away hidden courtyards.

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch using the form on my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All images are included in the price of the photo shoot. Thanks!

A 70th Celebration

Last weekend I headed over to Moreton-on-Marsh for a 70th family get together. The Cotswolds is so centrally located in England that it is an ideal place for families to rent a house and meet up for the weekend. I'm getting more and more bookings just like this one and as with all my photo shoots, sessions are always fun, relaxed and laid back.

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch using the form on my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All images are included in the price of the photo shoot. Thanks!

Daylesford Farm

Last Saturday I enjoyed a fabulous hour with six year old William and his little brother, four year old Thomas at Daylesford Farm. Mum and Dad mainly wanted photos of the boys with a few of the whole family. Daylesford is such a great place for a photo shoot with so many places to wander and so many good spots for shots.

A Birthday Bash With A Splash!

This photo shoot near Stow-on-the-Wold was packed full of fun! There was croquet, tennis, trampolining, a bonfire, marshmallows and a surprising dip in the pool at the end!

Kayte had booked the shoot for her parents wedding anniversary at a house the whole family had rented for the week. We all had a good giggle, especially when I got smacked in the head by a tennis ball! I think everyone felt a bit bad, but I soildered on!

Windswept on Cleeve Hill!

A few weeks ago I met Brenda and Keith and their children and grandchildren on a very blustery Cleeve Hill for a 60 minute family photo shoot. I don't think I've ever been up there on such a windy day! Despite the gale, we still managed to get some lovely shots, particularly when we moved around to the slightly more sheltered side. The views were less dramatic but the children were able to come out of their shells a little more, particularly the youngest two - Zac and Evie.

The photo shoot had been a gift to Brenda and Keith, to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They wanted a combination of formal family portraits combined with some candid, natural shots. Below are just a few highlights.

Highfield House

This photo shoot with Jen and Paul and their children and grandchildren took place a few weeks ago, in their garden at their house in Maizemore, Gloucester. Mark booked the shoot as a gift for his parents, who were celebrating a special wedding anniversary.

The children: Phoebe, Barney, Freddie and Eloise were a riot of giggles, laughs and silly smiles! Just my cup of tea. Monty the dog also got in on some of the photos as did the children's parents: Steve, Jackie, Mark and Lisa. It was a super fun 60 minutes spent chasing the kids around, blowing bubbles, exploring the veg patch and messing around with giant poppies! Here are just some of the highlights.

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All digital files are included in the cost of the shoot. Thanks!

Dryhill Farm

It's been a few weeks since this photo shoot but work has been very busy and has hardly left me with any time to get in front of the computer to catch up on all my blogs.

This photo shoot took place at Dryhill Farm, a stunning location that I hope to visit again soon. It was all about the three sisters: Phoebe Ella and Esme, with just a few formal pictures of the whole family, who were over in the UK visiting from Singapore.

The weather didn't dampen the girl's spirits as they waded knee deep through the daisy fields!

If you would like to book something similar then please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All digital files are included in the cost of the shoot, which you receive via email download within about a week. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

Winston Churchill Gardens

I met up with Sarah, Dan and their three children; Daniel, Bethany and Joshua, last Saturday morning before heading off to photograph a wedding. The location for our shoot was Winston Churchill Gardens. I'd never been there before but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very quiet, had lots of glorious wisteria and the most beautiful blossom tree.

The shoot was 30 minutes long but we packed a lot in! There were some relaxed, more formal family photos coupled with candid pictures of the kids being thrown int the air, which they loved! We did a family pile up sandwich, climbed trees and did lots of jumping too!

If you would like to book something similiar then I'd love to hear from you! Please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. Thanks!

Bluebell Wonderland

With two weddings and five photo shoots, last weekend was pretty busy! It was extremely good fun though and gave me plenty of variety.

This photo shoot was carried out in the very beautiful Lessington Woods Nature Reserve. The bluebell display there at this time of year is spectacular.

I joined Lisa, her husband, their son William, her parents and in laws for a 60 minute shoot. There was a good amount of time to get lots of shots. Lisa was keen on a combination of posed, formal group photos as well as some natural, candid ones. There was much laughing, smiling and not to mention falling over as everyone got into the swing of things! Little William was just gorgeous as he crawled through the bluebells and got super excited when everyone crept up behind him to shout boo!!

50th Wedding Anniversary

Last Sunday was another busy day in the world of Mouse About Town! This photo shoot was held near the race course with a family who had hired a cottage for the weekend. The three sons were celebrating their parent's 50th wedding anniversary and had come together with their own families from various different parts of the country.

Mum, Sally, wanted some group photos of all the different family combos before ending with one large group shot of everybody. This took about twenty minutes or so and then we all headed across the fields for some more informal, candid pictures. The kids were much more at home messing around and climbing gates, playing tennis and racing each other up and down the tennis court. Even the parents had a go, but it got a bit competitive between the sons!!

If you would like to book something similar then please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. I'd love to hear form you!

Tom and Beatrice

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and his little sister Beatrice for a mini photo shoot at their home in Cheltenham.

Mum and Dad weren't too fussed about being in any of the pictures, it was more about getting some nice shots of the children. We had a super time. Tom absolutely loved showing me around his garden, in particular the bamboo rain forest and fossil area! Beatrice had just started walking and was loving the fact she could get from one end of the living room to the other!

If you would like to book something similar then please get in touch using my contact page. Alternatively you can give me a call on 07983 465414. All my photo shoots are relaxed and informal. I'd love to hear from you!
