The Moore Family

Rob got in touch with me back in July to enquire about booking a family photo shoot in September. I was relieved he wanted to do the shoot in September as I had to turn a fair bit of work down in July and August due to the imminent arrival of my new mini mouse - no one is ever quite sure if they’re going to be late or early or how the birth is going to go but, as this was my third, and the other two were both late, I was banking on him also being late. As it was he was born at the start of August and the birth was pretty good! I was back on my feet working within just a week or two. It has been great to be out and about again exploring all the corners of the Cotswolds!

Rob and his family had booked a cottage for the weekend over near Broadway. It was a large family affair and as with most occasions that involve multiple children and various four legged pets - pretty crazy! The children were great fun, although the youngest was a little tearful due to a late night the previous evening. Yet despite that, we still managed to get some lovely shots of him, much to the family’s amazement! If you head over to my review page you’ll be able to read their comments - they were ever so pleased with the results, if not a little surprised given the minor melt downs from their little people!!

Elmore Court

Last Sunday I met Beckie and her family at the gorgeous Elmore Court. I’ve shot a few weddings here so was familiar with the grounds, which are stunning. The long grasses provided a natural backdrop for the two girls to run around in. There was plenty of fun with Mum and Dad, and even the grandparents joined in too. The session lasted for 30 minutes but I got plenty of shots in that short space of time. Below are just a small selection of them.

A Bluebell Spectacle

Anna and Izzy had a lovely time playing among the bluebells in Lassington Woods. I head this way every year with various different families to enjoy the colourful display of these beautiful little flowers. They make a wonderful backdrop for photo shoots and we’re always careful not to damage them.

The girls cuddled, kissed, giggled and laughed their way through most of this 60 minute shoot! It was great fun, even when their Dad misplaced his glasses on the woodland floor! We paused the shoot for 15 minutes or so while we helped him with his search, with no luck. Thankfully, a passing walker stumbled across them.

As with all my photo shoots, it was very relaxed and informal. Play not posing is the key emphasis. Below are just a small selection of shots.

The Ellis Family

I met Alison, Chris and their two children, Eligh and Ava, at a remote spot called Kites Nest Lane, just the other side of Gloucester. It’s not a location I had been to before, but they go walking there a lot with their dog, Rory, and were keen to capture the family in one of their favourite settings.

It was a rather drizzly morning, but the woods provided great shelter and the rain made some fantastic opportunities for a spot of puddle jumping! We tried to keep the shoot as natural as possible, encouraging the children to play instead of pose. The bluebells made a lovely backdrop too. Below is just a small selection of shots from their 60 minute shoot.
