55, The Temple

Henry booked me for an hour to photograph his newly refurbished, 2 bed terrace that he was soon to list on Air B and B. He had presented it beautifully, with careful attention to every detail. Using a combination of different lenses, I captured a nice variety of photos that focused on overall rooms right through to those tiny details that Henry had worked so hard on. Henry also requested some shots of the street too, it is a particularly good example of Regency Cheltenham. Below are just a small sample of images from the 47 that Henry received.

3 Suffolk Street

Metro newspaper contacted me recently as they required interior shots of a Cheltenham townhouse for their home’s section of their magazine. I was booked for two hours and was required to capture interior angles of all rooms, including layout and presentation, photographs of the family, both in the house, and outside, and exterior shots of the back extension.

Paragon Parade

I was contacted by this property owner to photograph his one bedroom flat in Cheltenham. The images were needed for the letting agency. The shoot lasted for about 45 minutes and I captured shots of the interior rooms and the front facade. It was a relatively small space with very little furnishings, which made it harder to photograph. However, some clever cropping and nice angles help to make the most of the flat’s best features.

Shepherd's Hut

Michael and Juliet contacted me recently because they needed their shepherd’s hut photographed. The images are to be used on their new website. Only just recently purchased, the double shepherd’s hut offers comfortable living accommodation for two people. Complete with outdoor steam bath and gorgeous roll top brass bath tub, it will surely be a hit with holiday makers visiting the Cotswolds for a short break.

We were fortunate that the rain held off just long enough to get the shots. Overcast skies are great for photos, but rain, not so much. I was there for an hour and a half. Below is just a small selection of pictures the couple received.

Winchcombe Retreat

I was asked to pop along to this quaint little property in Winchcombe to capture some interior shots for a new Air B and B profile. This two bed cottage had some lovely period features and a nice sized garden with an apple tree in it. A combination of whole room shots with close up detail images helps to create an overall impression of what the cottage is like.

Copsegrove March 2022

Last month I was over at Copesgrove again to photograph some of the finished interiors. This is a project I have been commissioned to photograph from start to finished, and it has been great to see the transformation. The pool house and spa is particularly awesome, having once been just an old pig shed!

Copsegrove May 2021

It has been a whole year since I first started documenting this high spec house and barn conversion at Copsegrove Farm. The progress and changes have been fantastic to see. Click on the links below to view previous visits to the farm.

On this visit I was hoping to get some shots of finished rooms, but there was still a fair amount of stuff to unpack. The rooms are really starting to take shape though and the soft furnishings and decor are going to rock a great style! I look forward to returning when the project is finished. Below are a selection of shots from the 90 minute shoot.

Copsegrove April 2021

Work on site is really beginning to take shape now. It has been almost a year since my first visit to the Copsegrove development and it’s going to be fascinating to review all the photos at the end of the project.

Today the focus was on trying to get some shots of the finished rooms. Not all that easy when many parts of the house still resemble a building site. However, using a few clever angles and some neat cropping, one starts to get a sense of the vibrancy of the space and materials.

Copsegrove February 2021

I was at Copsegrove just last month, but as always, much progress had been made in four weeks! The pool house was nearing completion, the kitchen was looking much more finished and more rooms were skimmed with more tiles going on the walls. It’s going to look fantastic when it’s finished!

If you’ve been reading my blogs on the Copsegrove development then you’ll know that I’ve been documenting the build right from the start. Use the links below to view the images from my previous visits.

On this visit, as well as progress shots of the interior, there was also the opportunity to photograph some of the workmen and the gardens too. So lovely to see the first signs of Spring appearing in the form of snowdrops. I also spotted some more sculptures dotted around the place - climbing ladders, enjoying a go on the swing and lazing in the bath tub, (with face mask of course!!)

Copsegrove January 2021

Work at Copsegrove Farm has continued with earnest, despite current lockdown restrictions. Thankfully for Kate and Martin, the owners, building work is allowed to continue under current government guidelines and with bookings already coming in, they are keen to see work progress!

With each visit, I’m always so impressed with how much progress has been made on site. On this occasion the pool house was a hive of activity, with work on the interior rooms of the main house also continuing at pace. Tiles were going on the bathroom walls which helped give a feel for what the space will be like once work is complete.

Copsegrove November 2020

It was great to be back at Copsegrove Farm last week to see how the project was coming along. Much progress had been made since my last visit in September, and those Autumn colours - just beautiful! I was disappointed not to get any photos of the cows, (if you read my previous blogs about Copsegrove you’ll understand how much I love them) but plenty of jolly builders instead! Lots of creative use with a small aperture too, a setting I don’t use all that much, but it’s the ideal setting for capturing the sun as a ‘starlight burst’.

Copsegrove September 2020

Kate and Martin Banks, owners of Copsegrove Farm, Bisley, have commissioned me to capture the renovation and restoration work of one of the cottages on the farm that used to belong to Martin’s Father. The cottage is being turned into luxury guest accommodation complete with pool house, spa rooms, outdoor pool, tennis courts and pizza kitchen plus a 14 bed high spec guest suite. The work is due to be completed in May 2021. I’ll be there every other month to capture progress with the build and the farm setting over the changing seasons. It’s a really exciting project that I’m thrilled to be involved with.

This was my third visit to the farm and, despite lockdown, much progress had been made. There were some very cool looking figures perched on top of the roof and the cows, as always, were majestic!

Back in May the farm and cottage looked very different. Click here to view the photos from that shoot.

When I revisited in July it was another very hot day but it was great to see all the progress that had been made. Click here to view the photos from that shoot.

Bridger Estate Agents

I was recently commissioned to photograph a house in Cheltenham for a local estate agent. The owner was ever so friendly and had clearly gone to a lot of effort to present the house well. I spent 40 minutes capturing shots of the two bedrooms upstairs followed by the kitchen, living and outdoor space.

Copsegrove July 2020

Back in May I had access all areas to the beautiful Copsegrove Farm in Bisley, (click here to view the photos from that shoot.) Nestled in the heart of the Cotswold countryside, the farm is set in the most idyllic position. Kate and Martin own the farm and are currently in the process of redeveloping one of the old cottages on site. I’ve been brought on board to document the process from start to finish. As part of that documentation I’ll be heading over to the farm every six weeks or so to photograph progress as well as to capture the farm during the changing seasons.

When I revisited in July it was another very hot day, but it was great to see all the progress that had been made. I spent an hour walking round the grounds and inside the house. I even got to have a dip in the pool at the end!

Copsegrove May 2020

Kate and Martin Banks own Copsegrove Farm in Bisley, Stroud. My children’s school use their forest school facilities and so I was thrilled when Kate got in touch to ask if we could have a meeting about an exciting new project.

It was a beautiful Spring day in May and having been locked in for the past six weeks, it felt great to get on my bike and cycle over to the farm for our meeting. As we sat outside in the sunshine nibbling on homemade flapjacks, Kate told me all about the project.

On part of the farm lies Martin’s parent’s old cottage. They are in the early stages of redeveloping it. The idea is they will turn it into luxury accommodation. They have already rejuvenated the old swimming pool and tennis courts and when Kate gave me a tour, I must say, it was looking fantastic! The part where I come in is with the documentation of the build and setting, including shots of the farm, land, animals etc. The images will be used on their new website and across all their marketing and social media platforms.

A few days after our initial meeting I returned to the farm with my full kit. It was a gloriously hot day and I must say that by the end of it, after lugging my kit over acres and acres of fields, I felt exhausted! It was such good fun though, especially when Kate gave me a lift in the RTV! It was the best day out I’ve had in ages, literally!!

Multiforme

I was recently booked for a two hour job by Italian lighting company, Multiforme. They had installed some of their lights in a house up on Cleeve Hill and needed some images to put on their website. The shoot itself was very enjoyable. The owner was very welcoming and left me to it as I worked through each of the three rooms, weighing up the best angles and compositions for the shots.

Heritage Recording #2

It was great to be back at St Philip and St James’ Church in Leckhampton, Cheltenham, for more heritage recording. I do a lot of photography for the Church. To view my previous visit please click here. On this occasion I was hired for a further hour to complete the ever extending list of shots they require for English Heritage.

Later this year the Church is to undergo a multi million pound reordering process - the interior is being pulled out and given a major, modern day facelift. Stackable chairs will replace the pews and glass pods will be inserted and used for meeting rooms. It will create a more useable, adaptable space. Click here to see the exciting new plans.

Alternatively, give me a call on 07983 465414.  I reduce my fees significantly for charity work and in some cases don’t apply a charge at all. Thanks.

The photo list was lengthy and included the documentation of one hundred pew ends, that’s two hundred in total! Fair to say I haven’t included them all in this blog as they would likely crash the website, but each one was stunning.

It was a fascinating glimpse into parts of the Church I’ve never had the privilege of seeing before. The Columbarium, in the basement, was truly magical.

Monza Pool House

Last week I was booked to photograph a guest wing of a house in Cheltenham that is currently being let out on Air B 'n' B. The owner's current photos were out of date and she felt they didn't do the space justice. I must say, it's a super place and the pool looked very inviting!

It took an hour to photograph all the rooms, including the outdoor patio area, pool room, living area, bed and bathroom. As with any property, the key is to sell its best bits so that's what I focused on with the photos. Much attention was given to presentation, layout and the finer details. Closely cropped frames highlight key seating and dinning areas and help to create a sense of space, making the place feel bigger than it actually is.

Hunt Cottage

Last week I was in Tetbury shooting a pretty little Cotswold cottage for specialist UK holiday lettings agency Mulberry Cottages. I spent a good hour finding the best angles and dressing certain rooms to make them look their best. I really enjoy photographing interiors. Often there is great natural light to work with which unleashes my creativity.
