Copsegrove May 2021

It has been a whole year since I first started documenting this high spec house and barn conversion at Copsegrove Farm. The progress and changes have been fantastic to see. Click on the links below to view previous visits to the farm.

On this visit I was hoping to get some shots of finished rooms, but there was still a fair amount of stuff to unpack. The rooms are really starting to take shape though and the soft furnishings and decor are going to rock a great style! I look forward to returning when the project is finished. Below are a selection of shots from the 90 minute shoot.

Copsegrove April 2021

Work on site is really beginning to take shape now. It has been almost a year since my first visit to the Copsegrove development and it’s going to be fascinating to review all the photos at the end of the project.

Today the focus was on trying to get some shots of the finished rooms. Not all that easy when many parts of the house still resemble a building site. However, using a few clever angles and some neat cropping, one starts to get a sense of the vibrancy of the space and materials.

Copsegrove February 2021

I was at Copsegrove just last month, but as always, much progress had been made in four weeks! The pool house was nearing completion, the kitchen was looking much more finished and more rooms were skimmed with more tiles going on the walls. It’s going to look fantastic when it’s finished!

If you’ve been reading my blogs on the Copsegrove development then you’ll know that I’ve been documenting the build right from the start. Use the links below to view the images from my previous visits.

On this visit, as well as progress shots of the interior, there was also the opportunity to photograph some of the workmen and the gardens too. So lovely to see the first signs of Spring appearing in the form of snowdrops. I also spotted some more sculptures dotted around the place - climbing ladders, enjoying a go on the swing and lazing in the bath tub, (with face mask of course!!)

Copsegrove January 2021

Work at Copsegrove Farm has continued with earnest, despite current lockdown restrictions. Thankfully for Kate and Martin, the owners, building work is allowed to continue under current government guidelines and with bookings already coming in, they are keen to see work progress!

With each visit, I’m always so impressed with how much progress has been made on site. On this occasion the pool house was a hive of activity, with work on the interior rooms of the main house also continuing at pace. Tiles were going on the bathroom walls which helped give a feel for what the space will be like once work is complete.

Copsegrove November 2020

It was great to be back at Copsegrove Farm last week to see how the project was coming along. Much progress had been made since my last visit in September, and those Autumn colours - just beautiful! I was disappointed not to get any photos of the cows, (if you read my previous blogs about Copsegrove you’ll understand how much I love them) but plenty of jolly builders instead! Lots of creative use with a small aperture too, a setting I don’t use all that much, but it’s the ideal setting for capturing the sun as a ‘starlight burst’.

Copsegrove September 2020

Kate and Martin Banks, owners of Copsegrove Farm, Bisley, have commissioned me to capture the renovation and restoration work of one of the cottages on the farm that used to belong to Martin’s Father. The cottage is being turned into luxury guest accommodation complete with pool house, spa rooms, outdoor pool, tennis courts and pizza kitchen plus a 14 bed high spec guest suite. The work is due to be completed in May 2021. I’ll be there every other month to capture progress with the build and the farm setting over the changing seasons. It’s a really exciting project that I’m thrilled to be involved with.

This was my third visit to the farm and, despite lockdown, much progress had been made. There were some very cool looking figures perched on top of the roof and the cows, as always, were majestic!

Back in May the farm and cottage looked very different. Click here to view the photos from that shoot.

When I revisited in July it was another very hot day but it was great to see all the progress that had been made. Click here to view the photos from that shoot.

Copsegrove July 2020

Back in May I had access all areas to the beautiful Copsegrove Farm in Bisley, (click here to view the photos from that shoot.) Nestled in the heart of the Cotswold countryside, the farm is set in the most idyllic position. Kate and Martin own the farm and are currently in the process of redeveloping one of the old cottages on site. I’ve been brought on board to document the process from start to finish. As part of that documentation I’ll be heading over to the farm every six weeks or so to photograph progress as well as to capture the farm during the changing seasons.

When I revisited in July it was another very hot day, but it was great to see all the progress that had been made. I spent an hour walking round the grounds and inside the house. I even got to have a dip in the pool at the end!

Copsegrove May 2020

Kate and Martin Banks own Copsegrove Farm in Bisley, Stroud. My children’s school use their forest school facilities and so I was thrilled when Kate got in touch to ask if we could have a meeting about an exciting new project.

It was a beautiful Spring day in May and having been locked in for the past six weeks, it felt great to get on my bike and cycle over to the farm for our meeting. As we sat outside in the sunshine nibbling on homemade flapjacks, Kate told me all about the project.

On part of the farm lies Martin’s parent’s old cottage. They are in the early stages of redeveloping it. The idea is they will turn it into luxury accommodation. They have already rejuvenated the old swimming pool and tennis courts and when Kate gave me a tour, I must say, it was looking fantastic! The part where I come in is with the documentation of the build and setting, including shots of the farm, land, animals etc. The images will be used on their new website and across all their marketing and social media platforms.

A few days after our initial meeting I returned to the farm with my full kit. It was a gloriously hot day and I must say that by the end of it, after lugging my kit over acres and acres of fields, I felt exhausted! It was such good fun though, especially when Kate gave me a lift in the RTV! It was the best day out I’ve had in ages, literally!!
