The Cotswold Water Park

One of my first photo shoots of 2017 was this 60 minute one at the Cotswold Water Park. Four generations of the same family came together to celebrate Nanna's 70th! None of them are from Gloucestershire. Half travelled up from London and the others from Hampshire. They were renting one of the waterside houses for the weekend.

So we had Nana Sue and Grandpa Roy, then their children; Andrew, Nikki and Kelly, with their other halves; Mike and Jo, and the four grandchildren; Jesse, Lucas, Duncan and Scarlett.

We started outside in the playground while the rain held off before some more formal family photos outside the house. They also wanted some natural shots of the original family playing cards as they have fond memories of this growing up. Finally there was just enough time for a few more messing around photos on the couch.

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Either give me a call on 07983 465414 or get in touch using the form on my contact page. Thanks and Happy New Year!

Timbercombe Woods

Last Saturday I photographed Toby, his wife Vicky and their two daughters, Georgie and Frankie. The meeting point was Timbercombe Lane in Charlton Kings. A great woodland spot that opens up onto spectacular fields and open space with panoramic views - the walk up the steep incline through the woods was definitely worth it!

The photo shoot was a gift to Vicky from her parents for her 40th. They had 60 minutes of fun filled, relaxed photos! We mixed up the shots with some simple portraits of the girls and fun family ones too.

If you would like to book something similar then please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. I'd love to hear from you!

Farm Fantastic!

On a mega busy Saturday this was the fourth of seven photo shoots at Down Hatherley Farm with the very entertaining Will and Beth! These kids are cousins to the Hulberts, who I've photographed previously on their farm over in Swindon Village. Click here to view the photos from that photo shoot.

I do love farms, they make great backdrops for photos. I'm very envious of all those who are lucky enough to live and work on one. I've dreams to own my own small holding one day. For now though, I'll have to make do with just taking photos!

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Just send me a form using my contact page or call me on 07983 465414. Thanks!

Porter

Yesterday I took a drive down to South Cerney Water Park to photograph 9 month old Porter, and what a sweetie he was! His Mum, Regan, was quite specific on the types of photos she wanted. She had pulled a shot list together from Instagram, selecting her favourite ones in the hope that we could produce something similar.

The shoot took place on their enormous kingsize bed! We were flooded with oodles of natural light. As always, the 60 minute shoot was fun, relaxed and informal. Porter had a great time launching himself off the end of the bed and throwing himself right at me! A natural model I'd say, enthused heavily be me, his Mum and his nanny!

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Please send me a form via my contact page or just give me a ring on 07983 465414. Thanks!

Cotswold Lavender Fields

Despite being on my Summer holidays with my two mini mice, August has been another busy month - taking me out and about throughout the beautiful Cotwold countryside.

This photo shoot with Catherine and Stuart was booked by Catherine's sister who got married two weeks ago. Having seen her wedding photos she was dissapointed there weren't more of Catherine and her family so had brought them this photo shoot as a gift!

I suggested meeting at the Cotswold Lavender Fields. I hadn't done a photo shoot there before and I was lucky really as the day we went was the very last day of the year they were open to the public!

The shoot was great fun. The three girls - twins, Lexi and Sophia and their younger sister Hermione, were full of beans and couldn't resist jumping and leaping through the sensational scents of the lavender!

If you would like to book something similar then please feel free to get in touch with me using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All digital files are included. Photo shoots are fun, relaxed and informal. Thanks!

Doodles of fun in Dursley!

Last Sunday I had three photo shoots and here's the first - a 60 minute location shoot in Dursley with Vicky and her husband Tim and their two boys, Elija and Milo. I had a great time with this lovely family in their local park. Just good old fashioned fun! We scaled the climbing frame, crawled through giant tractor tyres and whizzed down slides!

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. All digital files included. Thanks!

The Smiths!

This was a family that know how to have fun! Mum and Dad, (Tim and Helen) almost put the youngsters to shame with their zest for all things crazy! But their four children, Lily, Hannah, Toby and Jake were more than a match for them!

They booked me for a 60 minute location shoot at the holiday home they were staying at, (Cotswold Park Barns). Apart from Lily, their eldest and who was getting married the following week in Hampshire, the rest of the family live in Hong Kong. It's rare to get them all in the same place at the same time and so they wanted to update the family photo album.

It was fantastic fun and working with slightly older children always poses me with a new challenge of thinking up ways to get the best out of each character! They were on the same fun and crazy wave length as me and together, we came up with some great ideas !

I hope you like the pictures. If you would like to book something similar then please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. I'd love to hear from you!

Daylesford Farm

This morning I took a trip out to Daylesford Farm in the Cotswolds for a 60 minute family photo shoot with Lilian, David and their daughter - five year old Chloe. They had been on holiday over here and were flying back to Singapore tonight!

If you've not been to Daylesford before, I can certainly recommend a visit to this award winning organic farm. The pleasure of being able to wander freely around this working farm is fantastic but there's also stunning accommodation on site, a cookery school, beautiful farm shop and super smart cafe/restaurant.

We spent a very enjoyable 60 minutes casually walking around the farm, eager to discover what treasures were waiting for us around the next corner! We were never disappointed! The onion polytunnel was a favourite of mine and Chloe enjoyed picking apples off the apple trees and juggling with them!

As with all my photo shoots, it was very relaxed and informal. There's never any pressure to perform in front of the camera. It's about capturing beautiful, natural photos of your family. Real Flower Petal Co.

Last Saturday I joined Christine and her family at Wick Manor Estate. Every year for just two weekends in July, they open their delphinium fields to the public. It's every photographer's dream to work on location somewhere as beautiful as this and the pressure to do it justice increases ten fold! Naturally, I've been looking forward to this photo shoot ever since Christine contacted me a few months ago off the back of her daughter Belle's cake smash photo shoot in March, (click here to view the photos from that shoot).

The weather for Saturday's shoot was perfect. The grey skies made the colours of the delphiniums even more vivid than they already were and created a very soft, flattering light. Belle and her older brother had so much fun slinking around the long, flower covered fronds.

If you would like to book a similar on location photo shoot then I'd love to hear from you. Shoots can be anything from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. I travel far and wide so if there's a special place that means a lot to you and your family, chances are we can do the shoot there! All digital files are included, as is professional editing and post production. Feel free to give me a call on 07983 465414 or get in touch using my contact page. Thanks!

Barnwood Arboretum

Yesterday I headed across to beautiful Barnwood Arboretum in Gloucester for a fun family photo shoot with the very smiley Surana and her Mum and Dad!

I love it at Barnwood and have done quite a few photo shoots there now. It's a bit of a hidden gem. Never busy but with stunning specimen trees, a river teaming with hungry ducks and oodles of space for kids to run around and have heaps of fun!

If you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you. Digital files are included in the cost of the photo shoot, with mini park shoots just £50. You can get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. Thanks!

Isle of Arran

Oliver!

A few days ago I met up with Lindsay, Dave and their bonnie little lad, 11 month old Oliver, on Chosen Hill, a beautiful escarpment above Churchdown village.

I can't remember the last time I went for a walk during bluebell season, I'm reluctant to admit that it's probably not since I was a child. We lived in a small village back in Kent and the local woods were abundant with  beautiful bluebells.

We met in the car park at the top of the hill and once we'd found our bearings, (and the bluebells!) the photo shoot was soon under way.

Oliver had a lovely time exploring the flowers, we even had a brief snow shower - a very strange experience to be stood among a carpet of bluebells with snow falling around us.

I hope you like the photos, if you would like to book something similar then I'd love to hear from you! All of my photo shoots are very relaxed and informal - the whole family is welcome to join in - dogs and all! Just get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. Thanks!

“The photos are fabulous, thank you so much! We love them!”

The Hobbs Family

Mum of three, Jackie, contacted me recently to book in a family photo shoot - a Mother's Day gift from her husband, Jason.

They love walking on Churchdown Hill so it was the obvious choice for their photo shoot, which took place last night. I'd never been up there before so I was in for a real treat! The views are simply stunning, which were bettered only by the beautiful early evening sunshine we were lucky enough to enjoy!

Eldest son Joe, daughter Ella and their youngest, 5 year old Lucas, all enjoyed this relaxed and informal session. Lucas was particularly enthusiastic about having his photograph taken! Mum and Dad even managed to get a few pictures of the two of them on their own!

“Thank you so much for the lovely photos - and for sending them so quickly. Have used one as my profile picture on Facebook - so many comments about what a lovely photo it is! Will definitely recommend you to friends and family. Thanks again.”

Josh

Last Sunday was another fun filled day with Mouse About Town heading up to Tewkesbury for a 30 minute location shoot with the delightful Josh.

Josh has some sensory issues which makes him very shy. I worked extremely hard to help put him at ease just by chatting to him and distracting him from the camera. I spent the majority of my time simply chasing him around while he mucked about and had fun!

Jenson and Wren

A few weeks ago I took my baby mice, Jenson and Wren, to Barnwood Arboretum. I'd been inspired by a photo shoot I'd done there just a few days earlier. Click here to view it. I'd had so much fun with that family, I knew my kids would love it too! Here's some snippets of them in action!

Barnwood Arboretum

Hi everyone! Busy updating the website with all my latest photo shoots from the last 10 days, and what a busy bee I've been! I've had 10 photo shoots and two weddings. Phew!

This next photo shoot took place last Friday with Sarah, her husband Andy and their children, 3 year old Ethan and identical twin girls, Harriet and Isabelle.

This is the second shoot I've done at the beautiful Barnwood Arboretum in Gloucester. Follow this link to see previous work from there:

Nicole, James and Oscar

Nicole contacted me a few weeks ago to ask if I could come back to her stables in Foxcote, Gloucestershire, to do a family portrait photography session with her husband and 4 year old son, Oscar.

I was last there in April 2014 for one of Mouse About Town's very first photo shoots, follow this link to view the pictures from that photo shoot:

http://www.mouseabouttown.co.uk/studio/2015/9/16/horsing-around

It was great to get back there again, but instead of focusing the photo shoot on the stables setting, this time we took a walk up to the fields that surround it. I clearly don't get out in the Cotswolds enough; it was majestical! I came home that evening proclaiming that I wanted to move to the country, (my husband, having heard this a million times, simply rolled his eyes!)

If you are thinking of having a family portrait photo session done then please get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. My prices start from just £50 and includes all digital files, so no hidden extras!

Family Photo Shoot

Last Tuesday, Anna Burch asked me to her house in Charlton Kings to take some photos of her sister, Alex, and her young family, who are currently visiting the UK for the Summer.

Much fun was spent playing peek-a-boo in Anna's garden shed, which reminded me of Dr Who's Tardis, and hide and seek, where I would run and hide and the kids would try and find me! We got some great, very candid shots of the family.

I've done a couple of photo shoots for Anna before. Her son, Etie, is very keen on horse riding and last Autumn I photographed a farewell party for his beloved pony, Leo, who was going back to his owners in Surrey after an enjoyable Summer loan spent in the Cotswolds!
