Elsie, Bethany, Benji and Fliss

It has been quite a number of years since I last saw Jackie and her family. It was the Confetti Fields back in 2020. Click here to view the photos from that shoot. This time, Jackie wanted pictures of their new puppy, Fliss, and what a cutie! I was booked for a 40 minute shoot, and we got plenty of lovely photos. Jackie received 51 in total, and below is a small sample.

A Dachshund Tea Party!

I was contacted by the organiser of this charity fundraiser a few months ago to ask if I could come along and take some photos. The money raised was going towards helping abandoned and mistreated Dachshunds, providing them with care and foster homes while new, permanent homes were found. I popped along for the final 30 minutes and took individual photos of the dogs, some with their owners and some without, along with a few candid shots of the raffle draw. I wavered my fee completely for this event.

Cooper, Edie, Eddie & Luna

Jessica booked me for a 60 minute shoot with herself and her four rescue dogs. We met early on Sunday morning in Pittville Park, while it was still fairly quiet. It was saddening to hear the back stories about the dogs. I always find these animals so good natured, it’s difficult to understand the neglect people can inflict on them.

We had our work cut out getting the images that Jessica wanted. When one ran off in one direction, you could guarantee the others would run off the opposite way! It was great fun though, as always, and by the end of the shoot, we had all the combinations of dogs that Jessica had wanted. Below are just a small selection from the 45 images that Jessica received.

Pip & Mable

Mable and Pip’s owner, Tim, booked me for a 40 minute shoot to capture some shots of his two dogs. I headed over to his house in Winchcombe and from there we took a short stroll to a nearby meadow. Mable and Pip were not the easiest subjects to photograph together, what with one being so big and the other being so small! Mable, being just a ten week old puppy, was also a complete tear away! Such great fun though and Tim was really pleased with the images I captured. Head over to my review page to find out what he thought about his experience with me. Below are just a small sample of shots.

Arlo

Work has been bit of a juggling act of late what with the arrival of my new mini mouse! Due at the end of July, I wasn’t planning to take on any work in August, however, this one was too good to resist! Little puppy Arlo was so cute and I had great fun at Crickley Hill chasing him around, trying to get a clear shot of him from between the clovers! Below are a few of the highlights.

Dexter

Dexter’s owners had been given their photo shoot as a gift voucher during last year’s lockdown. There is no expiry limit to my gift vouchers, which has been very welcomed given the pandemic.

We met at Lassington Woods, just the other side of Gloucester. The bluebells here always make for a lovely backdrop and we’re always very careful not to squash the flowers. Dexter was full of energy! We managed to calm him down with treats and his ball, both of which he loved. It’s always a great challenge to photograph dogs, and a great privilege too.

Nala, Viera & Reggie

What a great way to mark the opening of my new photography studio! I just love photographing animals, and French Bull dogs and sausage dogs are right up there with my favourites! This was an hour long shoot and their owner, Rachael Morrison, needed the images to use on her new website. She has a start up company specialising in making bespoke dog leads and collars.

The brief was to obtain a selection of shots of the dogs wearing the collars and leads from various different angles. It’s never an easy task trying to capture decent images of dogs, but it is thoroughly rewarding when the shot comes off. Below are a selection from the final edit. I love them!

Bailey

This 40 minute photo shoot was given to Bailey’s owner, Greg, as a gift voucher. It was purchased late last year and, with no expiry limit, he was able to redeem it at a date and time convenient to him. The main focus of the shoot was Bailey, with just one or two shots of Greg and his partner. We made the most of the beautiful Autumn light and the reflections on the lake. Bailey was the perfect model!

Daisy

Daisy was a bundle of bounding fun! This 30 minute shoot at Crickley Hill was won by her owner in a raffle, which I had donated six months ago to a local charity. Crickley Hill is a great spot to grab some gorgeous photos, we utilised both the panoramic vista and the woods.

Hollie, Millie & Billie

I always get a weeny bit excited when I receive an enquiry from someone who wants to get their pet photographed. Animals are by far some of my more challenging subjects so I get a great deal of satisfaction seeing the shots come off.

Millie the dog was one such tricky subject, so fascinated was she by the rabbits! Speaking of which, the bunnies weren’t all that easy to photograph either!! The brief was black and whites and here is a small selection from the shoot.

Frankie

Frankie’s owner, Becky, won her photo shoot in a raffle. It was a 20 minute shoot and she used the opportunity to get some professional pictures taken of her. Frankie was ever so cute and quite the poser as it turns out!

Cally

Cally the Cockapoo was just adorable! Her owner, Trish, had been given the photo shoot as a present for Christmas by her son. He had purchased one of my gift vouchers and as with all my vouchers, there is no expiry date on them. Trish contacted me a few months later and I suggested we go to Lassington Woods, where there is the most prolific bluebell display.

Despite the heat, Cally really enjoyed bouncing through the bluebells. Her favourite game was catch and although she didn't like to sit still for too long, we did manage to get her sitting still just long enough for a few lovely pictures. Trish was so pleased with the photos she has also booked me to photograph her wedding later this year.

Woody

Woody the gorgeous greyhound is probably the most camera shy creature I have ever photographed - and I've photographed a lot! After some persuasion though, (mainly in the form of doggy treats and cuddles) he came round to the idea of having his photo taken!

On my recommendation the photo shoot took place at the gorgeous Burrows Field in Cheltenham. It had been purchased as a gift voucher for his owner, Jo. Gift vouchers are becoming increasingly popular. They are so easy to buy and make a lovely present. To find out more go to my prices page and scroll to the bottom or click here

Dio & Delilah

Last Sunday I welcomed a pair of gorgeous ferrets called Dio and Delilah to my Cheltenham photography studio for the first ever professional photo shoot!

Their owner, Julie, was keen to have some pro photos of them done as they are both getting quite old. She got them about five years ago from a rescue centre after they had been brought in with their litter of babies. The babies were all re-homed and she fell for these two!

It would be fair to say Delilah had far more energy than Dio, who was showing his age, bless him! In terms of photo opportunities though, he was by far the easier subject, choosing not to move very much! Delilah on the other hand was pretty nimble and hard to keep in one place! My prop cupboard got a good work out! An old pair of army boots and a vintage satchel contained the pair just long enough to get the shots we wanted.

If you have a favourite pet or other animal you would like photographed then I'd love to hear from you! Just get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. Thanks!
