Frenchies

The third set that owner Kate Frost had designed for this wonderfully bonkers photo shoot was in keeping with a French theme. Given the vast number of French Bulldogs Kate owns it should have come as no surprise to me that the tricolour would feature somewhere!!

After a gruelling three hours, I was surprised at just how much stamina these gorgeous little dogs had! They really were the most delightful bunch of canines and didn’t bat an eye when balloon after balloon after balloon was added to the scene. Not even the Eiffel Tower could overwhelm them!

If you have a dog or other pet that you would like photographed then please get in touch using my contact page or send an email to info@mouseabouttown.co.uk. All pictures are included in the price of the shoot. Alternatively, give me a call on 07983 465414.  I'd love to hear from you. Thanks.

Hollie, Millie & Billie

I always get a weeny bit excited when I receive an enquiry from someone who wants to get their pet photographed. Animals are by far some of my more challenging subjects so I get a great deal of satisfaction seeing the shots come off.

Millie the dog was one such tricky subject, so fascinated was she by the rabbits! Speaking of which, the bunnies weren’t all that easy to photograph either!! The brief was black and whites and here is a small selection from the shoot.

Frankie

Frankie’s owner, Becky, won her photo shoot in a raffle. It was a 20 minute shoot and she used the opportunity to get some professional pictures taken of her. Frankie was ever so cute and quite the poser as it turns out!

Cally

Cally the Cockapoo was just adorable! Her owner, Trish, had been given the photo shoot as a present for Christmas by her son. He had purchased one of my gift vouchers and as with all my vouchers, there is no expiry date on them. Trish contacted me a few months later and I suggested we go to Lassington Woods, where there is the most prolific bluebell display.

Despite the heat, Cally really enjoyed bouncing through the bluebells. Her favourite game was catch and although she didn't like to sit still for too long, we did manage to get her sitting still just long enough for a few lovely pictures. Trish was so pleased with the photos she has also booked me to photograph her wedding later this year.

Woody

Woody the gorgeous greyhound is probably the most camera shy creature I have ever photographed - and I've photographed a lot! After some persuasion though, (mainly in the form of doggy treats and cuddles) he came round to the idea of having his photo taken!

On my recommendation the photo shoot took place at the gorgeous Burrows Field in Cheltenham. It had been purchased as a gift voucher for his owner, Jo. Gift vouchers are becoming increasingly popular. They are so easy to buy and make a lovely present. To find out more go to my prices page and scroll to the bottom or click here

Dio & Delilah

Last Sunday I welcomed a pair of gorgeous ferrets called Dio and Delilah to my Cheltenham photography studio for the first ever professional photo shoot!

Their owner, Julie, was keen to have some pro photos of them done as they are both getting quite old. She got them about five years ago from a rescue centre after they had been brought in with their litter of babies. The babies were all re-homed and she fell for these two!

It would be fair to say Delilah had far more energy than Dio, who was showing his age, bless him! In terms of photo opportunities though, he was by far the easier subject, choosing not to move very much! Delilah on the other hand was pretty nimble and hard to keep in one place! My prop cupboard got a good work out! An old pair of army boots and a vintage satchel contained the pair just long enough to get the shots we wanted.

If you have a favourite pet or other animal you would like photographed then I'd love to hear from you! Just get in touch using my contact page or give me a call on 07983 465414. Thanks!

Ella

Last Sunday I welcomed the very gorgeous Ella to my Cheltenham photography studio. Although extremely shy and timid to begin with, once she'd had a good sniff around, she settled down well and we managed to get these shots of her.

If you have a much loved pet or other animal that you would like photographed either in my studio, at your house or on location somewhere else then please get in touch - I'd love to hear from you! Either drop me an email using my contact page of give me a call on 07983 465414. Thanks!

Bartie

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the very adorable Bartie. Bartie is a French Bull Dog. I've photographed this breed before, in the studio previously, and must say I find their characters charming!

I met Bartie and his owner Howard at Benhall Park where we spent an enjoyable 30 minutes capturing some lovely natural photos of him. There was a lot of scrabbling around on the floor on my part, which was a great look for the wedding at Manor By The Lake I had to go on to afterwards! All in all though a lovely session and some lovely pics too.

Bird Studies

Armed with my new Nikkor 300mm f2.8mm lens I've been out in the bird hide in our garden trying to get some photos of our friendly feathered visitors. We've put out all manner of bird feed and treats in the hope of making our garden the No. 1 spot in Cheltenham for birds to come and banquet!

Although I've been working as a professional photographer for the last five years or so, wildlife photography is not something I've ever been able to take up what with the children being so young. However, simply getting out in the garden for twenty minutes or so in between jobs, home schooling and the kids gives me a bit of a toe in the water.

So this is my blog about all things birdie. I'll be adding photos to it as and when I take any that are worth posting. I'll also be posting any pics I capture from places we visit as a family such as bird parks etc.

Thanks!
