Elsie, Bethany, Benji and Fliss

It has been quite a number of years since I last saw Jackie and her family. It was the Confetti Fields back in 2020. Click here to view the photos from that shoot. This time, Jackie wanted pictures of their new puppy, Fliss, and what a cutie! I was booked for a 40 minute shoot, and we got plenty of lovely photos. Jackie received 51 in total, and below is a small sample.

Dudley

Claire was given her 40 minute photo shoot by her friend, who purchased it as a gift voucher to say thank you for making her wedding cake. As with all my gift vouchers, there is no expiry limit to them, so client’s can relax and book the session at a time convenient to them.

I met Claire and her dog Dudley in Pittville Park last Saturday. It was a fairly chilly, overcast day, but the grey clouds complimented Dudley’s coat beautifully. Dudley was a very sweet natured little dog, all be it a little wary of the camera. We tried to incorporate some of the Autumn colour, as well as the stepping stones, which I suggested, as Claire wanted some photos of him looking clean before he started tearing around on the grass! The stones elevated him a little and kept his coat dry.

A Dachshund Tea Party!

I was contacted by the organiser of this charity fundraiser a few months ago to ask if I could come along and take some photos. The money raised was going towards helping abandoned and mistreated Dachshunds, providing them with care and foster homes while new, permanent homes were found. I popped along for the final 30 minutes and took individual photos of the dogs, some with their owners and some without, along with a few candid shots of the raffle draw. I wavered my fee completely for this event.

Cooper, Edie, Eddie & Luna

Jessica booked me for a 60 minute shoot with herself and her four rescue dogs. We met early on Sunday morning in Pittville Park, while it was still fairly quiet. It was saddening to hear the back stories about the dogs. I always find these animals so good natured, it’s difficult to understand the neglect people can inflict on them.

We had our work cut out getting the images that Jessica wanted. When one ran off in one direction, you could guarantee the others would run off the opposite way! It was great fun though, as always, and by the end of the shoot, we had all the combinations of dogs that Jessica had wanted. Below are just a small selection from the 45 images that Jessica received.

Pip & Mable

Mable and Pip’s owner, Tim, booked me for a 40 minute shoot to capture some shots of his two dogs. I headed over to his house in Winchcombe and from there we took a short stroll to a nearby meadow. Mable and Pip were not the easiest subjects to photograph together, what with one being so big and the other being so small! Mable, being just a ten week old puppy, was also a complete tear away! Such great fun though and Tim was really pleased with the images I captured. Head over to my review page to find out what he thought about his experience with me. Below are just a small sample of shots.

Charlie

Last week, I met Emma, Charlie’s owner, at Crickley Hill for a 20 minute photo shoot. it was bitterly cold so we kept moving, which was inevitable given that Charlie is just a little puppy! Great fun, and ultra cute, we got some lovely shots of him! Below are a selection.

Milo

Claire, Milo’s owner, was given this 20 minute photo shoot as a gift. I suggested we meet in Pittville Park as it is super dog friendly and provides plenty of space to run around. Milo was incredibly good natured and although he had trouble keeping still at times, always had a smile for the camera! Below are a selection of images from the shoot.

Arlo

Work has been bit of a juggling act of late what with the arrival of my new mini mouse! Due at the end of July, I wasn’t planning to take on any work in August, however, this one was too good to resist! Little puppy Arlo was so cute and I had great fun at Crickley Hill chasing him around, trying to get a clear shot of him from between the clovers! Below are a few of the highlights.

Dexter

Dexter’s owners had been given their photo shoot as a gift voucher during last year’s lockdown. There is no expiry limit to my gift vouchers, which has been very welcomed given the pandemic.

We met at Lassington Woods, just the other side of Gloucester. The bluebells here always make for a lovely backdrop and we’re always very careful not to squash the flowers. Dexter was full of energy! We managed to calm him down with treats and his ball, both of which he loved. It’s always a great challenge to photograph dogs, and a great privilege too.

Sorin

It has been great to be back outside working again after spending many months in lockdown. This 30 minute photo shoot at Ashton Court Estate was fun with a capital F! I love photographing animals and Sorin was no exception. A very handsome rescue dog, he enjoyed leaping around and posing for the camera, helped along by a couple of treats!

Nala, Viera & Reggie

What a great way to mark the opening of my new photography studio! I just love photographing animals, and French Bull dogs and sausage dogs are right up there with my favourites! This was an hour long shoot and their owner, Rachael Morrison, needed the images to use on her new website. She has a start up company specialising in making bespoke dog leads and collars.

The brief was to obtain a selection of shots of the dogs wearing the collars and leads from various different angles. It’s never an easy task trying to capture decent images of dogs, but it is thoroughly rewarding when the shot comes off. Below are a selection from the final edit. I love them!

Monty & Ralph

This full on 40 minute family shoot was great fun! With four children and two dogs, there was much running around for everyone involved as dogs headed in one direction and children headed in the other! The main focus was on the dogs, as one of them had cancer with only a few months to live. I had my work cut out to get all the shots Mum wanted, but she was very pleased with the final images.

Benny

Benny is a friend’s dog who came to visit me recently. He was so cute I couldn’t help but bring him into my photography studio for a quick photo!

Bailey

This 40 minute photo shoot was given to Bailey’s owner, Greg, as a gift voucher. It was purchased late last year and, with no expiry limit, he was able to redeem it at a date and time convenient to him. The main focus of the shoot was Bailey, with just one or two shots of Greg and his partner. We made the most of the beautiful Autumn light and the reflections on the lake. Bailey was the perfect model!

Rocky

This 20 minute mini shoot with Rocky took place at his home near Tewkesbury. Being a rather elderly gentlemen his owners felt that perhaps they ought to get some photos of him. Despite his grand old age he was extremely agile and one had trouble keeping him still long enough to get a shot! However, the doggy treats had their usual effect and he soon calmed down. A lovely session. Just love photographing dogs.

Plato & Diesel

Crickley Hill is always such a fabulous spot for a photo shoot. It has stunning panoramic scenes and plenty of space. It was on a rather windy day a week or so ago that I met Plato and Diesel, accompanied by their owner Nicola. Photographing animals is always one of my greatest challenges, but also one of my greatest loves. These two pooches were no exception. A delightful pair and quite clearly best friends.

Daisy

Daisy was a bundle of bounding fun! This 30 minute shoot at Crickley Hill was won by her owner in a raffle, which I had donated six months ago to a local charity. Crickley Hill is a great spot to grab some gorgeous photos, we utilised both the panoramic vista and the woods.

Party Animals

Kate Frost is owner to seven French Bulldogs and she commissioned me recently because she wanted to do a photoshoot with them all. Prior to the shoot we had a good chat on the phone about the types of pictures she was after, she also sent through some examples via email.

It was an early start on the day of the shoot. I arrived sharp at 7am and we worked solidly through to 11am. I was astonished and impressed with how much dedication and effort Kate had put into designing the three different sets. She later told me she had spent thousands of pounds on all the props, which included a real Christmas tree, fake snow, candy canes, baubles, balloons, streamers, doggy food and beer, a mini Eiffel Tower and so on.

The first set was themed around the idea of party animals and I must say, by the end of the session, the scene did actually resemble something of a party.

Christmas Capers

The second set that Kate Frost had designed was a Christmas spectacle. It was truly off the wall in terms of the decorations. My favourite pooch was Bear, an eight week old puppy who rocked the cutest little elf outfit. We spent a good hour with the dogs on this set, some were more obliging than others, but overall they were all pretty good considering what was being asked of them!

Frenchies

The third set that owner Kate Frost had designed for this wonderfully bonkers photo shoot was in keeping with a French theme. Given the vast number of French Bulldogs Kate owns it should have come as no surprise to me that the tricolour would feature somewhere!!

After a gruelling three hours, I was surprised at just how much stamina these gorgeous little dogs had! They really were the most delightful bunch of canines and didn’t bat an eye when balloon after balloon after balloon was added to the scene. Not even the Eiffel Tower could overwhelm them!
