Sudeley Castle

I met Oliver and his parents at the gatehouse of Sudeley Castle, they had been staying there for the weekend. They booked me for a 40 minute session to capture some family photos with particular focus on Oliver. He wasn’t that keen on the idea of having his photo taken, choosing rather to hide behind his Mum in tears. A little gentle encouragement was enough to make him feel better though and soon enough he was leaping and bounding across the grass playing hide and seek and picking dandelion clocks.

When faced with a situation like that I find it best to keep things as fun and relaxed as possible to help put the child at ease. Positive interaction, a friendly smile and letting them see the pictures I’m taking on the back of the camera seems to help reduce any anxiety.

The Apple Barn

April is shaping up to be another busy month with lots of family and on location shoots. This 40 minute shoot was in the beautiful Cotswold countryside with a family who had hired a house for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. Despite the less than favourable weather we did get outside for some more natural, candid pictures and utilised an old cow shed too! Here are some snippets.
